Add Margin to PDF

On your device

How to add margins to a PDF

  1. Open your file. Drop it on the page or choose it — it is read locally, so there is nothing to upload.
  2. Set the margin. Start with a preset, drag the slider, or type a value for each side.
  3. Download. The PDF arrives with its pages re-laid out, text still selectable.

Good to know

Which margin should I use?
20 mm is a comfortable default for A4. Printing usually needs at least 10 mm so nothing is clipped; a wide 30 mm margin leaves room for handwritten notes.
My document is landscape or sideways
Margins are measured the way the page is read, not the way it is stored, so a rotated page still gets its margin on the side you picked.
Password-protected PDFs
Encrypted files cannot be rewritten. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then run it through here.
Is there a page limit?
No limit in the tool. Very large files simply take a few seconds longer, since the work happens on your own machine.
